Tanzania - Namanga orphans
Namanga is situated on the border of Tanzania and Kenya. At the Tanzanian side we have an ongoing project for the Masai orphans and the community. A local medical doctor called Dr. Kabati and his wife share his home with about 25 orphaned children. We started building a school for the children on a beautiful and spacious land, which is almost done now. We are about to build a a Guest House, a clinic and 2 houses for the orphans. One of our main goals is to start agriculture so that the project become self-supportive and the children learn how to survive in an area more and more affected by drought. We have already drilled a well but we are yet to buy the water pumps and have a lot to do in the way of turning the land into an oasis of green place. (The Masai are losing their cattle in these times, so teaching agriculture is a number one priority for the community.)
It is really rewarding to work for these kids. Please come along and join this or some other projects and see the hospitality of the Tanzanian people and the beautiful scenery. Trips to national parks, Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar on request! Should you be interested in helping with any branches of this great plan, or interested in more details, please send us your request now!
